We meet at Dune 2, by the shipping container shed. Arrive by 10am. Plan to stay for at least a couple of hours. If you’d like to work longer, the work session runs until 2pm.
If the work session is cancelled due to rain, it will be posted it on the Friends of Pinhey Sand Dunes Facebook group.
We’ll meet at Dune 2 by the shipping container shed. See the Google Map image showing the location of the Dune 2 entrance (search for “Pinhey Sand Dunes Complex Site 2). Follow the main path, marked NCC Trail 32B.
There’s lots of parking along the side of Slack Road. Parking at P15 (Dune Site 3) is very limited, and you will have to walk to Dune 2.
Bring:
Dress appropriately for being in the sun, heat, and for getting dirty. Be mindful that the sand gets everywhere, especially in your shoes!
There is an out-house located at P15 (Dune 3). It’s a bit of a hike from Dune 2, so plan accordingly.
There are a few people who would like to volunteer during the week. Send an email to pinheyfriends@biodiversityconservancy.org to make arrangements.
For high school students we use the honour system, so you will need to keep track of your own volunteer hours.
You can work on Sundays, as well as during weekdays when school is out for the summer. Get in touch in advance to make arrangements.
